The people behind the data: What we learned from our 2026 user survey
At CRScube, we have always believed that the true value of an Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system isn’t measured by its technical specifications alone, but by how effectively it supports the people who use it every day. The clinical research professionals working on the front lines of clinical trials are the ones who truly understand what makes technology work in the real world.
To make sure we are listening closely to these vital voices, we recently ran our latest user satisfaction survey. Gathering feedback from 530 respondents across key clinical roles – Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs), Clinical Data Managers, and Clinical Operations users (CRAs & CTMs) – this initiative gives us an honest look at where we are succeeding and where we should focus our efforts.
Our Net Promoter Scores (NPS) this year have placed cubeCDMS firmly in the "Excellent" category across all user groups, a milestone that aligns with our current recognition on G2.com as a preferred EDC based on user satisfaction. While we are incredibly proud of these scores, we see them less as a badge of achievement and more as a reflection of the trust our users place in us, and a reminder of our responsibility to keep innovating.
A high-level look at user advocacy
The feedback from our 2026 survey showed steady, heartening progress across every single role we surveyed, resulting in a world-class overall NPS score of 74.7. Building upon our past benchmarks, this year marks a highly encouraging upward trend, showing clear satisfaction gains across all three user categories.
Clinical Data Managers: Achieved our highest advocacy ranking with an outstanding NPS of 85.0 among the 100 data managers surveyed.
Clinical Operations users (CRAs & CTMs): Reported an excellent NPS of 76.2 across 130 respondents in charge of trial monitoring and oversight workflows.
Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs): Earned a strong NPS of 70.7 among 300 site-based respondents, who are responsible for the bulk of daily data entry.
We were also humbled to see exceptional advocacy from respondents who regularly work with global solutions like Medidata Rave. In fact, user satisfaction remained consistently high across the board, with respondents familiar with established enterprise platforms rating cubeCDMS just as favorably as those without that background. This provides reassuring validation that even professionals with deep, hands-on industry experience find our platform remarkably intuitive and competitive.
Beyond our EDC, we are seeing a growing community of teams adopting our broader data capture suite. It suggests that users are finding genuine relief in simplifying their entire data flow within a unified, single-source platform, rather than managing a fragmented network of disconnected vendors.
What teams value most in cubeCDMS
The true value of this survey lies in the specific, qualitative experiences shared by our users. Here is a high-level overview of what cubeCDMS users highlighted as core operational strengths:
For Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs): Field teams highly valued data entry convenience and operational ease, noting that the system allows for immediate practical application without requiring long, disruptive training cycles. They also appreciated the intuitive, clean screen layouts and tab structures that help reduce visual fatigue during long periods of data entry.
For Clinical Data Managers: Data management professionals highlighted our system's core flexibility, noting its ability to meet the needs of any clinical trial type. They also valued features like cubeCDMS integrated medical coding functionality, which helps streamline data processing workflows, alongside the concise builder and dashboard structure that simplifies managing separate test sites during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
For Clinical Operations users (CRAs & CTMs): Visual clarity was a central theme. Monitoring teams emphasized that the clean screen structure makes reviewing vast amounts of data much smoother, while the clear distinction between unentered data and unresolved queries allows them to quickly evaluate a site's status before an upcoming visit.
Continuous evolution: Moving from software to process optimization
Every year, our user feedback guides our development pipeline. When we look back at our previous surveys, user requests were largely focused on fundamental software improvements to simplify traditional processes.
This year, we noticed a highly rewarding shift. Because the foundational software of cubeCDMS is now serving teams reliably, user requirements have matured. Instead of asking for core software adjustments, our users are looking for deeper process and workflow optimization to make their daily operations even more efficient.
Users highlighted several excellent opportunities for advanced workflow updates, which we are actively incorporating into our long-term platform roadmap.
- Site users are keen to optimize the query workflow, as it is a time-consuming process.
- Data managers continue to look for ways to be more efficient during system setup.
- Trial operation users focus on the flexibility of data reporting to fit various stakeholders’ needs.
Looking ahead
Listening to the people behind the data is an ongoing process. While we are grateful that our latest survey reflects a strong partnership between CRScube and the study teams we serve, we know our work is never truly done.
Because an EDC system should adapt to the people running the trial – not the other way around – we will continue to use your feedback to refine our single-source platform. Thank you to everyone who shared their insights with us this year.
